What Must I Do To Be Saved?

The Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas while they were in prison this question. They gave him a very simple answer.

An answer which is of extreme importance to all of mankind. Their answer was, "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household"

The Bible Says...

For God so loved the WORLD that He gave His only begotten Son so that whosoever believed in Him might not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

Romans 10:9,10

"That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, (Do You?) and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Do You?) you will be saved."

Ephesians 2:8-10

"For it is by grace you have been saved (past tense) through faith - and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: NOT OF WORKS , lest any man should boast."

1 John 5:11,12

"...and this is the testimony: God has given (past tense) us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life."

Romans 6:23

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

John 5:39

"Search the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and it is they that testify of me and you will not come to me that you might have life"

Does The Bible Contrdict Itself?

The WTB&TS quotes James 2:26 often in hopes to prove that what Jesus did plus what a person can do (works) is what gets a person saved. In other words, what Jesus did once and for all, was not enough. Should a person read the entire 2nd chapter of James they would see that James was not contradicting Paul in Ephesians 10:8-10. James was simply saying that a person does good works because they are saved and not to get saved.

Jesus himself said in John 6:29 that, "the work of God (Jehovah) is this: to believe in the one He has sent."

And if a person does that, they are saved and the good works will follow.
